Long Description: A unique 7 day experience to fly in a twin engine 10 seat aircraft across Australia from Melbourne to Pungalina Station. This is a fully accommodated and organised small group tour away from busy tourist destinations. Visit a cattle station, an opal town and famous Birdsville on the journey. Enjoy 4 days at Pungalina.
The accommodation at Pungalina is fully catered and is a very comfortable twin share tented safari camp resort, situated in lush green surrounds right next to an underground thermal spring.The camp has flushing toilets and hot showers.
Activities are varied. Each day guided personal tours take you to something different. Try your hand at Barramundi fishing on the Calvert River, explore 1500 million year old limestone caves, canoe a gentle billabong or take a full day canoeing adventure down the river, swim in the many underground thermal springs, enjoy bush walking, bird watching or just cruise the gorges and rivers. The choice is yours.
The attraction of Pungalina is it's remoteness and personal attention. A unique experience away from the crowds. As it is fully catered all you have to do is enjoy. All equipment , boats, canoes, fishing gear and vehicles are included.
The air tour from Melbourne is a 7 day trip and can be tailored to suit a group of up to 8-12 passengers. It takes approximately one day to fly across Australia, generally having an overnight somewhere on the way up and way back. As Pungalina has it's own airstrip , the aircraft lands within minutes of the safari camp resort.
