The Adventure Ranch offers the finest experience of a Western adventure available. You may involve yourself in kayak excursions, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, camping, or old mining camp exploration all within the scope of the ranch. If gambling is your “bag”, a short ride to the Topaz casino will be on tap for you. Possibly you may want to embark on a tour of a Native American Reservation to discover what the old West was really like in its infancy. All this for an adventure par excellance…Or you may just want to sit and relax using the accommodations of the Ranch itself!
Either way, the Adventure Ranch is one of the most relaxing and scenic places to stay that is available to adventurous couples.
We offer first class accommodations, including a sauna (complete with dressing room, cold tub and shower), an exercise room, spectacular mountain views, hors 'douvres, and wine.
The many adventures to choose from here during your stay at the ranch include floating the Carson River in Class 3 White Water to Mountain Biking the Famous Lake Tahoe Flume Trail to just relaxing around the Ranch and enjoying the serenity of the Sierras. Below are the day adventures to choose from:
(Check-in is at 3:00 pm or later.) Settle into your comfortable room prior to meeting for a social cocktail hour and staff introduction in the recreation room. Here they will provide you with details and video presentation of your adventure package.
For those who are hungry and want their adventure to start immediately, a vehicle headed to Lake Topaz will be available where excellent dining, entertainment, and (if you desire) a wild water encounter around Lake Topaz.
Carson River Whitewater Raft or Kayak Adventure: (April-June)
The six-mile descent down the river begins at “Hangman’s Bridge”, lingering at an Indian gathering hot springs, and concluding the run at Horseshoe Bend. From here you are whisked away up the canyon to the Ranch where a hot sauna, wine, and hors ‘douvres are awaiting.
Meals: 1B, 1L, 1D
Mountain Bike Adventure:
After breakfast the Mountain Bikes are loaded and we head to Lake Tahoe to begin a 5-15 mile bike ride along the beautiful and historic "Flume Trail", taking in the breathtaking view of Lake Tahoe. You may opt to walk, hike, or run the trail instead of Mountain Biking if you choose
Skiing Adventure: (Winter)
A whole day of downhill skiing at Kirkwood, Heavenly Valley, or Mount Rose Ski Resorts is offered. (Or X-C Skiing if you choose.)
Departing for home.
Early in the morning, we will accompany you to the airport for your homeward flight.
