Short Description: canoeing and backpacking at its finest

Long Description: Canoe Canada's Yukon on the remote and pristine Class I and II waters of the Yukon River, Wind River, Big Salmon River, Pelly River and Teslin River.
Experience the Yukon's northern wilderness in the Pelly Mountains, Big Salmon Range, Anvil Range, Coast Mountains and/or Dawson Range.
Wildlife is abundant with moose, caribou, bear, wolf, varied bird life and furbearers often seen. Our early season and late season trips are exceptionally wildlife interactive - call moose, howl wolves, hoot owls and even call bears!
Chances of seeing Northern Lights on our September trips are very good.
Enjoy the beauty and ease of paddling our traditional wood and canvas canoes built on original 18' Chestnut Prospector forms or take comfort in our 22' outboard powered wood and canvas freighter canoes of Chestnut, Nor' West and Faber designs.
Camps are 3-season Sierra Design tents with a tarp kitchen which is tried and true for keeping dry and comfortable.
Fishing for Arctic grayling is good to excellent with northern pike and inconnu also available.
Our campfire meals and snacks are nutritious, delicious and filling!

Backpack Yukon's Coast Mountains for life at the top!
Experience incredible mountain peaks and vistas up to 7500'and enjoy the incomparable freedom feeling of no man made trails.
Clean air and pure water!
Dall sheep, caribou, grizzly bear, marmot, pika, moose, fox, ptarmigan, eagle, falcon, bunting and many flora species inhabit this true wilderness environment. Meals are typically dehydrated packaged meals and commercial and home-made snacks with a focus on long and short term energy.
Camps are 3-season Sierra Design pack tents with sleeping pads.

Fishing for trophy lake trout on deep, crystal clear Yukon lakes with Arctic grayling and northern pike also available.
These are fishing focused trips with freighter canoes, tent and tarp camps and exceptional meals.
Fishing success ranges from good to excellent, but mostly excellent with trout in the 20-pound class reasonably expected and the possibility of catching a real big one.
We do not use electronics! Our trips focus on learning how to fish which we believe is far more interesting and very likely every bit as productive.
The long days of June in the North give you the Midnight Sun - fish all night long if you wish!

Cedar and Canvas Adventures strives to deliver an understanding of northern lifestyles, the fragility of natural ecosystems in Canada's north and the benefits of conserving Yukon waters. habitat and wildlife species. Our knowledge and experience is shared through interpretation, hands on learning, anecdotal information and storytelling.

Testimonials: Awesome! ... the strength of the river and its quietness, billions of wild roses in bloom, such beauty, alwayss a good night's sleep ... I will relive this experience over and over.
Clive Wickware

My spirit and soul came together on my first trip. I was calmed and able to make some major decisions in my life to take me forward in a positive direction. When I returned the next year the magic was still there. This is truly the last frontier and I encourage everyone to try the adventure. I will be back again next year and the year after and the year after that.
Alan Longstaff

Thank you again for a great trip. Clayton is the best guide we've been with and made the adventure extra special. The company, paddling, scenery, wildlife sightings, organization and meals were all superb!
Alec and Christina Olaveson

It is wonderful that you take people like us to the land. You open our eyes to what is right before us and you open our ears without intruding. We felt at peace. The only thing I'd change is to stay out longer on the river and walk more to use up all the delicious calories we ate.
Jeddie and Hazen (age 7) Russel

Every aspect of our trip was great. The food was healthy, plentiful and tasty. Clayton is an excellent river guide - very knowledgeable in the natural and human history of the river as well as having a vast knowledge of the animals we saw. The sense of space in the Yukon has to be seen to be comprehended. The quiet and solitutde can only be sensed by being there.
Tyke Babalos

Trips are fun and personal with a huge emphasis on leaving nature as you find it. I came away feeling I had really lived the Yukon experience ... a wonderful experience ... comes highly recommended.
